THE HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT FOUNDATION OF NIGERIA (HRWN) CONDEMNS THE ELECTION VIOLENCE IN SOME PART OF THE COUNTRY

While discussing with some news reporters, the vice president of the the above named association, Dr. Tijjani Abdullahi Sarki, has shown serious concern on the manner displayed by some unpatriotic citizens trying to bring problem into our country due to their ulterior motives which may eventually endanger peace and stability of the country.

The vice president said “It would be purblind and dumb for some Nigerian citizens to remain indifferent to recurrent violence in Takai and Doguwa of Kano state where people were burnt to death, and that of Rivers and Lagos States, where people were attacked and some even shot during election seoson”

He further said “What happened goes beyond politics and exemplifies barbarism, impunity and backwardness”

The vice president said that the perpetrators of the alleged homicidal incidents must be brought to justice and face full force of the law.

He added that “It is very unfortunate and unbecoming to set a look to some unscrupulous persons to hide under the cover of election and create infraction to the larger society”

The vice president also urge the general public to continue praying for peace and stability of the country.

  • It’s regrettable to see some of the accused perpetrators of the Kano political killings still living freely in their abodes.
    This is indeed unfortunate, because since no action is visibility taken on them, they will continue to repeat such atrocities in future!!.
    For avoidance of suspicion of compromise, action must be seen to be taken on these arsonists/hoodlums.
