Friday 04.08.2023. The Hon Commissioner for Social Justice and Re-integration, Amb. Dr. Mrs. Filister Musa, has convey her sincere gratitude to the Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for entrusting her with the position of Hon. Commissioner for Social Justice and Re-integration.

Ambassador Filister, appreciates the opportunity to serve in the administration and the people of Taraba state.

Dr. Mrs. Filister says she has recognizes the pressing issue of domestic violence in our society, and she is determined to address it with the utmost urgency.

Her commitment to cracking down on domestic violence stems from her firm belief in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all residents.

She promised that under her leadership, the Commissioner’s office will work in close collaboration with Human Rights Watch and Youths Empowerment Foundation, as well as the law enforcement agencies, other non-governmental organizations, and community stakeholders to develop comprehensive strategies to combat domestic violence.

In her chat with the president of Human Rights Watch Foundation in Nigeria, Ambassador Agim Godwin Apple, The Hon. Commissioner emphasis that all measures will include awareness campaigns, victim support services, legal reforms, and strict enforcement of existing laws.

Dr. Mrs. Filister understands the devastating effects of domestic violence on individuals, families, and our community as a whole. She empathizes with survivors and remains dedicated to providing them with the necessary resources and support to rebuild their lives.

Additionally, the Hon. Commissioner acknowledges the importance of prevention and early intervention approaches.

She intends to implement programs that promote healthy relationships, educate the public on recognizing signs of abuse, and foster a culture of respect and equality across the Taraba state.

Dr. Mrs. Filister will work tirelessly to uphold justice, protect the vulnerable, and reintegrate survivors into society without stigmatization.

She is committed to collaborating with relevant stakeholders at all levels to achieve these goals.

In her conclusion, she thank the state governor once again for the opportunity given her to serve.
