Responsible parents are those parents who care and show unconditional love to their children.

As a responsible parent concern, your responsibility entails putting the need and interest of your children over that of yours, because you as parent, you play a very great roles in the lives of your children.

It is expected of you to become a role model for your children, so that the children imitates you in most cases.

One very important role you can play as a parent in order for your children not to feel neglected from your part is providing for your children’s well being and their safety, it is expected of you to show concern for your children by providing for the entire household to meet your obligations as a parent.

Another role that you can play is caring for your children adequately without discrimination, this include giving them the basic needs of life, food, clothing and shelter.

The children are human beings, so they have the right to their Human Rights being protected, you as their parents should care for them by making sure that their Human Rights are not violated by anyone.

It is also your responsibility to protect them from environmental hazard like dirty places and harsh weather, cold, heat, rain and so on.

Another most important role for you to play is giving your children the right to education, you have to know that education is the constitutional right of every children in Nigeria, it is expected that child should be allowed to have access to free and compulsory education.

Your power as a parent in this case is to enroll your children in school, without depriving them this right.

Exception of all these aforementioned characteristics in you, will make you irresponsible parent, and will definitely make your children feel neglected, and your children are more at risk for their own relationship troubles, depression, anxiety, and aggression, among other negative outcomes.
