75th INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY
The Vice President, Human Rights watch and Youth empowerment foundation of Nigeria, Dr. Tijjani Abdullahi Sarki together with some members attended the International Human Rights day orgarnized by Network of Human Rights Organisations headed by Comrade A.A Ayagi on 10 December in kano city.
The Human Rights Day is observed by the international community every year on 10 December.
It commemorates the day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The 2022 Theme of Human Rights Day is Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All.
The Universal Declaration on Human Rights sets out a broad range of fundamental rights and freedoms to which all of us are entitled.
It guarantees the rights of every individual everywhere, without distinction based on nationality, place of residence, gender, national or ethnic origin, religion, language, or any other status.
As the formal inception of Human Rights Day dates from 1950, after the Assembly passed resolution 423 (v) inviting all States and interested organizations to adopt 10 December of each year as Human Rights Day.
When the General Assembly adopted the Declaration, it was proclaimed as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, towards which individuals and societies should strive by progressive measures, national and international, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance.
This event has commemorate the struggle that has taken place over the years to secure and improve human rights, Youth tending Up for Human Rights, stand up for someone’s rights today, our Rights, our Freedoms, always, Rights matters, working for your Rights, my Voice counts, celebrate human rights, Speak up, Stop Discrimination, embrace Diversity, end Discrimination in Nigeria by the central office of international Human Rights Commission Headquarter in Czech Republic.
During the program, important dignitaries that have Excel in Human Right development in one way or the other were recognized and awarded with certificates.
